For over 30 years, Ayumi has welcomed guests into her home in the foothills of the Yatsugatake Mountains. Fields, streams, and forests fill the peaceful village where she and other locals live in harmony with nature. Try your hand at farming, pick mountain veggies, and even make your own seasonal jam. This experience includes a healthy dinner and breakfast, which you can prepare with Ayumi. Whether you're traveling solo or in a group, you're sure to feel at home at Tateshina Kitchen House.

Enjoying life to the fullest

Ayumi strives to live authentically and enjoy life to the fullest in everything she does. As the seasons change, she is grateful for the blessings of the mountains, the blessings of the fields, and the energy of the land.

From 1982 to 2018 Ayumi ran a cozy guest house in Chino called Pokkari Gumo. Her current location is Tateshina Kitchen House, where she offers a retreat plan open to one group per day, and you can even stay for up to a week - a great option for a relaxing workation.

With over 20 activities such as traditional cooking, medicinal herb beauty cream making, farmwork, and wood chopping, it's easy to make the most of your rural retreat.
